Romance ensues, but when Steve contacts the FDA, attempts are made on his life, scandalous rumors about him begin to circulate and patient files are stolen. As Ted grows erratic and paranoid, Francesca offers to sneak Steve into Ted's office to retrieve secret information to build a case for the FDA. Shobin (Terminal Condition), a physician himself, builds a credible medical plot with unscrupulous Third World field tests and greedy entrepreneurs. The parallel narrative unfolding in Indonesia is at least as engrossing as the American section of the book, but the writing throughout tends toward ham-fistedness, and readers may have a hard time swallowing many of the outlandish plot twists. Word of mouth won't breathe vitality into sales, and it's questionable whether a novel that the publisher compares to "Robin Cook meets Michael Palmer" can develop a market personality all its own.

It applies to all of us as members of groups with which we have ties. More than being about Muslim, it's about being a responsible citizen in this complex and diverse modern world..

This is indeed written for Muslims, but it explains a lot about Islamic ideas and cultures in a beginner format making the book impactful and informative to all. I'm thankful for the opportunity Ghobash has given me to better understand Islam and today's world. This isn't just a book. It's an experience.

I'm not a Muslim, but considering the issues of today, I have read many books to understand a religion that is foreign to me. This book is excellent, how the author urges his son, in plain English, to keep his faith (if he wants), but that also means living it in an up-to-date way, i.e., tolerant. Interpreting the Quran must be done in the light of all the amazing new knowledge about the world and living with others in a large world, that were not a part of life in 700AD, when the Prophet was walking the deserts of Arabia. I love the advice. If you're looking for a lot of facts and data, they're not here. It's expressing feelings, and is very human. It is soft and short, but it doesn't sugar-coat crazed zealotry and terrorism. I recommend it, especially to Christians and atheists (like me) who may be tempted to think the main message of traditional Islam is consistent with the horrors and the terrorists' hyper-intolerance we see on TV today. Now, if only the imams in the Middle-East would read and heed, the author would have really accomplished something.

Wasn't even the right book.

While this book teaches you basically the same features as the 2013 version, the assignments you are creating are completely different so unfortunately I was forced into buying this new version for my college course. I am definitely not a fan of the price but was able to get a used copy cheaper here on Amazon than my college. The book is easy to use. There are lots of screenshots and has step-by-step instructions. There are additional instructions on the side of the pages for users on a touch-screen device completing these assignments. It even explains the "Why?" of what you are doing on certain steps so you understand the purpose of what you are doing and how it contributes to the project you are working on. Upon first glance of the contents when I first received it, I immediately became overwhelmed, but once I sat down and actually started doing the work it was actually quite simple with the easy to follow directions.

This is sick. The publishers cannot be charging nearly $200 for a book on Microsoft Word, but they are. This is extortion and highway robbery. This book is only a reboot of the 2013 and what could possibly go into the production of this paperback that renders $200 a reasonable price?Wow.
